FAQ
  • What is your cancellation policy?
I definitely understand the need for flexibility in my clients' hectic schedules and respect how valuable their time is. I make every attempt to accommodate your schedules and would ask that you, as my guest, do the same for me. To ensure that scheduled appointments flow smoothly, clients will need to reschedule or cancel appointments at least 24 hours in advance. If you must reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a $50 cancellation fee. Prepayment for all services may be required in the future after the second incident.
  • What if I am late to my appointment?
I will do my best to continue as planned, but if you are more than fifteen minutes late, you may be asked to reschedule for another day. If you are running late, please contact me as soon as possible to let me know. My clients are scheduled according to their needs, which means if I start just one client late, every client after that will be seen late. Sometimes I can catch up, sometimes I can’t, depending on what type of appointments are scheduled after yours. I completely understand that life happens, but if this is a recurring issue, a late fee may be added to your appointment cost.
  • What should I do if I'm not happy with my services?
If you are unhappy with your services, I ask that you let me know within 7 days. I need to know or I can’t do anything about it! I always go out of my way to make my clients happy and when someone isn’t, I will do what it takes to make the situation better. That being said, not achieving desired final results in one session, when we have discussed in the consultation that it will require multiple sessions, does not constitute a "re-do"; neither does your husband, wife, mom, or aunt not liking your new look (when you leave the salon happy with what we agreed on together). Once again, if there is an issue, I am always willing to make it right and leave you 100% happy with your hair!
  • Can I bring my children with me?
For safety and liability reasons, I ask that you please leave your children at home, or arrange for another adult not being serviced, to look after them. Don’t get the wrong idea – I love kids, but the salon is not a good place for them. The last thing I or anyone else want is to drop a bowl of chemicals, a pair of scissors, or a hot flat iron onto your pride and joy.
  • What do you mean "cash-off bonus"?"
Being a part of the Amanda Neeley Hair Tribe has its perks, and one of them is my referral program! As a current guest, you can recommend me to your friends, family, and even strangers at the grocery store. When they come in for their first appointment, they will receive $25 OFF their service total but YOU will receive a $25 Credit towards your next service as well! This also means that when I hand you 2 referral cards at the end of your appointment, you have the chance to earn $50 in service credit for your next appointment. I can think of a few ways to spend an extra $50 getting pampered!!
  • Can I gift my service credits to someone else?
Unfortunately, the service credit rewards only apply to the amazing person who shared the love! This is my gift to you in appreciation for supporting my small business.
  • What's the difference in a Full or Partial Color Application?
There are so many ways to achieve a color goal. The differences in these services is based on how much of the head I am applying color to. A Full Application is always used with a first time guest to ensure maximum coverage based on your goals. Partial Applications are used to maintain or enhance the color achieved from previous appointments.
  • What is the difference between Highlights and Balayage?
There are many different ways to take you from where you are to where you want to be. One method of highlighting your hair is to weave it and fold it into foils. This allows the color placement to be very specific. You may receive a full or partial foil depending on how much of your hair is highlighted and how many foils are placed. Balayage is a technique in which color is painted directly onto the hair without the use of foil. It produces a more sun-kissed look, and the technique is used to create more lived in looking color. Again, a full or partial application may be necessary, depending on the look you are trying to achieve. I absolutely love when you come with inspiration photos so that we can decide what technique will accomplish your hair goals.
  • What is corrective color?
Corrective color is not only fixing a color that has gone wrong, but it is really any major hair color change. Subtle changes in hair color are generally possible at your regular hair appointments, but when dramatic changes are desired, correction appointments may be necessary. My first priority with color correction services is maintaining the health of your hair. Its important to understand that this could involve more than one chemical process, which means extra time in the salon as well. I will discuss every step with you to ensure that you feel comfortable. In-salon consultations are always complimentary, but required to schedule any corrective color appointment. These appointments are generally lengthy, and cost more than traditional color services.
  • How long will my hair color last?
You may think I'm saying this in order to get you to buy the better products here, but if you use high quality products (shampoos, conditioners, and styling aids) specifically designed for colored hair, your hair color should last from 4 to 8 weeks, with 5 to 6 being typical. That’s a big range, but the variance has to do with your hair's predisposition to fading, your hair's texture & porosity, how often you wash your hair, how hot the water is, and how much you’re in the sun. Water is the main culprit, but if you use an inexpensive drugstore- type shampoo with harsh detergents, it will truly strip your color quickly. A cheap non-color safe shampoo can almost completely remove red haircolor in one washing. Also, conditioners with a high paraffin content will bind to your color and make it wash out more quickly. If we are talking about fashion colors, (vivid, pastel, metallic, etc) the life of the color cannot be guaranteed. We can talk details on caring for your fashion colors at home, to make them last as long as possible, at your appointment.
